CURIOSITIES This computer has 2 slots, but one of them is not the typical MSX slot, it is a 50 pin connector,
like the SCSI standard. The SVI tapecorder you can see in the photo is very strong, the same for the
diskdrive, both units have more weight than the computer itself.
SVI never included internal power supplies to their machines, all the computers and pheriphericals had
external power supply.
AÑO The SVI 728 started to be sold in 1986 with a price of 270 euros.
SOFTWARE With this computer SVI Spain gave you two tapes: Maths and Astronomía MSX, SVI almost had not
relevance in the software production.
HARDWARE Apart from the tapecorder and 5,1/4" diskdrives, SVI is knowed thanks to their voice synthetizer, the
300 Bps modem and the MSX slot-50 pin adaptor.

CURIOSITIES SVI 738 is the unique MSX-1 with the MSX-2 VDP (V9938). It could be considered as a portable
MSX compuiter. It has a 80 columns screen and it was oriented to the press world, in fact, dozens of
spanish writers used it.
Two years ago this MSX computer could still be buyed in the Rastro of Madrid, but not as a second
hand product, they were sold completely news.
AÑO The SVI 738 X´press was sold in 1986 with a price of 511 euros.
SOFTWARE CP/M and MSX-DOS, 40/80 columns switcher. Tool datapack with calendar and text editors.
HARDWARE This computer is one of the scarce MSX-1 with internal diskdrive, in this case one 3,5" 1DD (360
Kb), as we can see, SVI also make monitors.

CURIOSITIES The Spectravideo X´press 16 was the first hibrid computer between two systems, it was a PC
and a special MSX-2, not a pure MSX-2, it just needed an adaptator card for using MSX
cartridges, but once it was adapted it could be considered as a MSX-2, it had a V9938 VDP
of Yamaha (128 Kb VRAM), an AY-3-89112 as a sound chip (PSG) and the Z80A.
AÑO The SVI X´press 16 was sold in the first months of 1987 with a price of about 655 euros,
monitor not included, it could use the MSX and PC monitors.
SOFTWARE GW Basic, MS-DOS 2.1, we suppose that with the MSX converter card (it incorporates a slot
adapter and MSX BASIC 2.0 & Disk Basic ROM) they gave you MSX-DOS.
HARDWARE It had a 5,1/4" diskdrive, it they offered as an option the PAL modulator (for normal TVs),
memory card for 640 Kb expansion and a fan.
